Information You Submit
The address and owner-name search forms send the terms you enter to the outside provider that returns results. Gilmer County Property Records does not store a copy of those searches on its own servers. A message sent through the contact route includes whatever details you choose to provide, which are used to answer that message.
Routine Technical Logs
The hosting service records standard technical details such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and visit times. Those logs help maintain the site and review overall page use. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also rely on cookies or similar tools where enabled.
How Information Is Used
Technical data supports operation, troubleshooting, audience measurement, and page improvements. The operators do not sell a visitor list or build a profile for each person who visits.
Outside Portals and Search Tools
Gilmer County links lead to the Clerk, Assessor, Sheriff/Treasurer, WV GIS, and other service providers. Each operator sets its own privacy terms. Information entered on an outside portal is handled under that provider’s policy, including searches reached through sponsored result tools.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting vendors process the technical logs needed to run the site. Where analytics or advertising tools are active, their providers may receive the limited automatic data described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it.
Security and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection. Server logs are retained only for the operational, security, and measurement purposes described in this policy. Because the site has no accounts, it does not maintain a visitor password or personal profile.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The reference is intended for adults, not children. The operators do not knowingly request personal details from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information through the contact route, use the contact page to request its removal.
Requests About Your Information
You may ask what contact details the operators received or request correction or deletion of a message where applicable. The project research identifies the West Virginia Freedom of Information Act, W. Va. Code §29B-1-1 et seq., as a law for requesting public records from a government custodian; it does not govern private-site account data. No general West Virginia consumer-privacy statute was identified in the research for citation here. Use the contact page for information submitted to this reference. County or state public records are controlled by their custodian, and requests to correct those files must go to that office.
Policy Changes
When the privacy practices change, the revised policy will appear here with the new wording. Continuing to use the site after that update means you accept the revised terms.
